China has set a goal for central State-owned enterprises to establish an intellectual property work system in line with the requirement of high-quality development by 2025, according to a new guideline.

Those companies' capability of creating, using, protecting and managing intellectual property should be significantly improved by 2025, said the guideline issued by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA).

The guideline will further enhance the independent innovation capabilities of the central SOEs and accelerate the cultivation of competitive world-class enterprises, industry insiders said.
