Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, hosted a training program named Intangible Cultural Heritage in Communities, where 29 communities across the city were given the status of an ICH-featured community for their preservation and promotion of traditional crafts, arts and medicine. Since Qingdao was named by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as one of the eight pilot cities to promote ICH items in local communities in 2020, the city government has organized a series of events to encourage the popularity of ICH skills.
