Trademark Office rolls back fees

The Trademark Office of the National Intellectual Property Administration reduced administrative fees for some of its services, starting July 1, 2019. A trademark registration extension fee has been slashed in half, from 1,000 yuan ($150) to 500 yuan. An application for changing items related to a registered trademark previously cost 250 yuan, but now is 150 yuan. The office is promoting online filings and has rolled out incentive policies including administrative service fee favors.

The customs seized 23.81 million items of IPR infringement goods nationwide in the first half year

It was learned from General Administration of Customs (GACC) on August 2 that, in the first half of 2019, the customs handled 6,241 batches of IPR infringements goods for import and export, up 1.5% year on year; seized 23.81 million items of such goods, up 100.7% year on year. The total value involved reached 78.73 million yuan.

Zhejiang makes inclusive deployment about crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting

On August 6, the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province held a teleconference of provincial market regulation departments on joint inter-agency crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting, to fully implement the gist of the 2019 national work teleconference on crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, identify specific responsibilities, mobilize the governments and market regulators of various levels in advancing the full coverage and regular-based supervision.
